SIMON OF CYRENE PROJECT
Simon was a Cyrenian man who, while standing along the pathway of Jesus being lead towards Calvary, was ordered by Roman soldiers to help Jesus carry His cross. Though not much is known about why he was chosen and what happened to him afterwards, many believe he was chosen due to a showing of sympathy for Jesus and His
suffering. Many also believe his sons, Alexander and Rufus, were mentioned in the book of Mark due to them being of notoriety amongst Christian circles at that time. What is known is that Simon did exactly as Christ instructed us to do, to take up our crosses daily and follow Him.
What is the Simon of Cyrene Project?
The project is an initiative in which we do for individual Christian artists just as Simon did for Jesus, help them bear the load of their journey. We will give direct guidance, discipleship, and artistic/managerial support to them as they journey in the creation and development of careers, ministries, projects, and agenda. We will utilize an in-person and hands-on approach in the direct supply of resources, support, and services. Our ultimate goal is to directly aid in the artist’s personal journey, and to relieve as much of the challenging loads off their back as possible.
